Ruth & Andrew's wedding has been one of my most favourite weddings so far this year! This was my second wedding working at the new Maleny Retreat in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Rolling hills, beautiful views and wide open spaces is what Maleny Retreat is all about.

Ruth's wedding had all the beautiful things I love about weddings - simple whimsical styling, gorgeous gowns, soft pretty pastels and a romantic outdoor garden location! I've included all the lovely photos, even non-makeup ones, just as they were featured on the Byron Loves Fawn photographer's blog. All their photos are just so pretty to look at and tell the story of their day so well.

Ruth was such a hands on bride, she organised the whole wedding herself which included marquee setup and catering. Such a big job but as you can in her photos it all came together perfectly.

The Bridal Makeup: Soft & Romantic Whimsy

For makeup, Ruth sent through a few beautiful pictures of makeup styles she liked. All of her inspiration images had an overall look of soft, romantic glamour which suited her so well. We did two makeup trial runs before the big day to make sure we had the perfect finish. Ruth's bridesmaids wore a lavender blue and their bouquets were shade of soft pink, pale blue, whites and peach.

I chose a beautiful shade of matte brown for Ruth's eye makeup and to top it off we added a set of eyelash extensions applied the days prior to Ruth's wedding. The extensions allowed Ruth to avoid potentially messy mascara and beautiful lashes for long after the wedding while on her honeymoon to Paris! I used a soft peach blush and matching lip colour to compliment her bouquet while also adding a bit of freshness to the look.

Evalyn Parsons did a beautiful job in creating the soft romantic look for Ruth's hair finished off with a few pretty blooms which were supplied by Ginger Lily and Rose who did the beautiful bouquets and archway seen below.

For Ruth's bridesmaid's makeup I went for a soft lavender eye with pink lips to keep with the pastel theme and not overpower the overall look we were going for. They loved the makeup and you can see it suited the girls so well.
